Biography

Mental Experimental Sound Explorer and Instrumentalist V-Stók, aka Valentin Doychinov, is a Bulgaria born, London based electronic musician, guitarist and producer. His musical works find inspiration in exploring the grey areas between club music, classical avant garde and experimental genres. His approach and attitude is heavily influenced by the nihilistic humor characteristic of his generation growing up in political, economic and cultural turmoil resulting from Soviet era collapse. Nonetheless, his works exhibit a radical optimism for the strength of independent human spirit and the sacred power of the inner world. Valentin is an active member on the London techno and experimental electronic music circuit and has performed at clubs/festivals such as Electrowerkz, The Steelyard, Red Gallery, Total Refreshment Centre, Peckham Rye Festival, Dronica, Blanc, Live Now Sleep Later, A’mas, Queer noise and has shared stages with artists such as Codex Empire, Choronzon, Tapefeed, Gareth Wild, Amotik, Ayarcana, Ossian, Fis. Under his V-Stok alias he has released two EP-s (one self released and another for the Noise/Ambient Bulgarian label Amek Collective). The EP-s have been featured by XLR8R, As If No Way, Nova Future Blog, Toneshift. Valentin's dancefloor oriented alias Abyss Divide has had its debut release supported by Laurent Garnier, Renaat Vandepapeliere, Blawan and many other celebrated DJs and producers. In 2018 Valentin composed also his first film sound track for the science fiction short film Red Velvet Revolution.
